This museum was built in 1900 for the Exposition Universelle as a train station. It was only a train station until 1939. During WWII it served as a post office and then remained closed until the building reopened as Musee d'Orsay in 1986. It holds France's national collection of Impressionism art pieces. Here there are the works of Monet, Renoir, Sisley, Pissarro, Degas, Manet and Van Gogh to name a few. I was also able to see the exhibition of Le Douanier Rousseau which will only be at the Orsay until July 17th. Much to my disappointment I was unable to view a Renoir because they are on loan.
